The various societal responses to DV

The various societal responses to DV.

I believe you know that  DV is short form for domestic violence.

And you know what domestic violence means.

Men beating thier wives, girlfriends. Its mostly against women.

So, what the question is asking, is

As all these violence against women  is happening, how do we as men see it, how do government, through the police see it, how does our society see it?

And also, what are we and government doing to put an end to it.

That's what the societal reaction mean.

So, if you see it in exam, how to awsnser the question. Begin by stating how its seen and the effort  of government or organisations in the fight against  DV.

You can put it this way

I. African society: our men, see domestic violence as a normal thing. African men believe that  they have the right to beat thier wives to command obedience and respect. Whenever she reports the abuse to  family members, they would start telling her to behave herself and respect  her husband, that he is lord over her. That its her fault.

Ii. Police: when a woman is brutalised by her husband, then  reports to the police. The police often  regard it as a family, private matter which should be resolved at home.

III. Domestic violence is reinforced by cultural values and beliefs that are repeatedly
communicated through the media and other societal institutions that tolerate it. The
perpetrator’s violence is further…

Today exam is going to be  great.

EFFECTIVE WAYS NOUN STUDENTS CAN READ AND REMMBER.

EFFECTIVE WAYS NOUN STUDENTS CAN READ AND REMMBER.

Image result for exam

No student has low retentive memory.
While some forget everything they read, others can recall it easily. Have you ever wondered why this happens? A lot of students who fail examinations have reported they do read but forget everything they read, which is why I have decided to write this article. Trust me, if you can follow this write up to the end and put the tips into action, your ability to remember will surely increase.

1. READ TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND
Many students who are yet to discover their hidden ability of remembrance have the mindset of reading in order to pass their examination which makes them to cram rather than understand the content of the book. As a result, they forget everything they read in the exam hall. Therefore, change your mindset while reading. Read to gain knowledge, make sure you understand the concept of what you are reading and don't just read to pass an examination"

2. DO NOT SKIP A SENTENCE
Students see some of the information in a book as "story" and decide to skip them. Before you can understand and remember what you read, you just have to read enough. The secret is, "The more you read, the more you understand and the more you remember" . You cannot read four sentences and expect to know five. there are hidden secrets in every sentence!

3. MAKE NOTE
I believe GST107 and GST101 has taught you that writing down what you are reading helps you to remember more. After reading for several minutes, try to write down main key points of everything you have read in short form without looking at it. This will help you to know the part you don't understand, so you can go over it again or ask your course mates in NOUN. This is a very effective method which I used during my days as a student. I am sure it will work for you!

4. EXPLAIN IT TO YOURSELF
If you have been forgetting what you read, it is because you either crammed it or you did not understand. After reading for a while, try to explain to yourself, it will help you to know if you really understand the concept of what you are reading.

5. TAKE A BREAK

Readings for 10hours without taking a break does not make you a bookworm but I will rather call it a waste of time. Yes, a waste of time!. Your brain is a biological organ and not a machine, it also gets tired. Effective reading habit should be cultivated as it is more yielding. When I say effective reading, after reading for 1-2hours, you tend to lose concentration when your brain gets stressed. Don't force yourself to continue reading. just take a 10-30minutes break depending on how you feel, until you feel relaxed and good to go again. After the break, try to recall everything you have read before the break, then you can proceed with your reading.

6. USE SONGS AND MNEMONICS
Mnemonic is a technique used to remember what you read very quickly and accurately. I believe you were taught the use of mnemonic device in GST107 (Good study guide) You can easily rememberin the exam hall by using mnemonic device. For instance, in BIOLOGY101, the mnemonic for remembering the features or characteristics of a living thing is MR NIGER D (movement, respiration, nutrition, irritability, Growth, Excretion, reproduction and Death).
It is very easy to remember the mnemonic which will help you remember all the features of a living thing than remembering all the features just like that.
Music is also efficient method. You'll agree with me that most of the rhymes you we're taught still sticks to your brain because of the use of music. If you were not taught like that, you'll have forgotten everything.

HOW TO OVERCOME E-EXAM AND POP EXAM FEAR.

HOW TO OVERCOME E-EXAM AND POP EXAM FEAR.

Image result for exam

1. DETERMINATION
Make a decision that you will not fail, you will surely pass is the first step to overcoming your fear. Choose success, this will make you do all your best to prepare for E-exam or POP examination. It will help you when you are tired of trying. This mindset is the key to overcoming fear.

2. ADEQUATE PREPARATION
You cannot limit your fear when you enter the examination hall empty-brained. Study enough, cover major course units, and check the previous examinations to know the pattern, solve past questions and do all you can until you are satisfied. You will realize that courage will start to build up inside you even before examination. By preparing enough, you will not fear the upcoming E-exam or POP examination anymore and your hope of blasting it will increase.

3. PRAY
Pray to God for divine understanding and a retentive memory, believe in him, Endeavour to have faith and hope for the best. Remember that heaven help those who help themselves. Therefore, do not pray without reading and do not read without praying.

4. YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE
No man is born to be successful neither is one born to fail, we are all what we make ourselves". If you have adequately prepared for E-exam or POP examination, there is no reason for you to fear.

5. NEGLECT WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Don’t believe the negative things NOUN students say. Some NOUN students will tell you, " E-exam and POP examination is very hard", "People have failed and people will still fail". Don't listen to this courage-killer statements. They are fallacies!. When people tell you this, just remember that "Even though people failed it, some passed it", so you will pass it because you are not a failure.

There is need to overcome E-exam or POP examination fears because:-

• It enhances better performance
• It reduces rate of mistakes during examination
• It helps to build maximum brain focus on examination and enhance efficient thinking.
Business Plan Made Easy for GST302 (NOUN)

Image result for exam

A business plan is not always the long, complex and scary document and presentation you think it is. Depending on your target audience (banks, investors, business plan competition), a business plan can be as simple or complex as you want it.

Simple business plan outline:

1. Executive summary
Write this last. It’s just a page or two which highlights the points you’ve made elsewhere in your business plan.
It’s also the doorway to your plan—after looking over your executive summary, your GST302 grading officer is either going to throw your business plan away or keep reading, so get it right.
Under this executive summary, briefly give details of the problem you are solving for customers, your solution, the target market, the founding team, and financial forecast highlights. Keep things as brief as possible and entice your GST302 grading officer to learn more about your business plan .

2. Opportunity
Here, describe the problem that you solve for your customers and the solution that you are selling.
It is always a good idea to think of customer needs and customer benefits as you define your product or service offerings. rather than thinking of your side of the equation (how much the product or service costs, and how you deliver it to the customer).
Sometimes this part of the plan will include tables that provide more details, such as a total amounts of the raw materials or goods or detailed price lists, but more often than not this section just describes what you are selling and how your products and services fill a need for your customers.
3. Market analysis summary
You need to know your target market—the types of customers you are looking for—and how it’s changing.
Use this section to discuss your customers’ needs, where your customers are, how you plan to reach them and how to deliver your product to them.
You’ll also need to know who your competitors are and how you stack up against them—why are you sure there’s room for you in this market?
4. Execution
Use this section to outline your marketing plan, your sales plan, and the other logistics involved in actually running your business.
You’ll want to cover the technology you plan on using, your business location and other facilities, special equipment you might need, and your roadmap for getting your business up and running. Finally, you’ll want to outline the key metrics you’ll be tracking to make sure your business is headed in the right direction.

5. Company and management summary
This section is an overview of who you are.
It should describe the organization of your business, and the key members of the management team, but it should also ground your GST302 grading officer with the nuts and bolts: who is/are the owner(s), what state you hope to register your bussness , in and where you do business.
Be sure to include summaries of your work backgrounds and experience if its relevant to the skills needed for the business you are proposing—these should act like a brief CV.

6. Financial plan
At the very least this section should include your projected profit and loss and cash flow tables, and a brief description of the assumptions you’re making with your projections.
You may also want to include your balance sheet, your sales forecast, business ratios, and a break-even analysis.
Finally, if you are raising money or taking out loans, you should highlight the money you need to launch the business.

You can choose from any of these business or services and write a bussness plan using the guide above.
